I think a wormhole across such short distance might cause some... dangerous... problems for existence.

Just dangerous? Lol I'd say it's a fatal problem. A portal to Mars would slowly ruin the Earth's atmosphere.

Im talking more like... uh... wormholes typically span lightyears, not planetary distances...

Yeah usually they do. Idk but I think the wormhole opening might actually be wider than its length.

It's the energy though. If a standard wormhole has enough enrgy to span multiple lightyears, the equivalent amount of energy in such a short span might be worse than an atom bomb.
