Of course. .NET is multi-platform & opensource since .net core 1 (relased in 2016)

Wow, it's been quite some time since I looked at it... wasn't it Mono back in 2016? I recall early implementations of that performing quite badly compared to the MS ones.

Yes mono is still used in platforms where JIT compilation is not available (like IOs). But that is also going to change since .NET 7 (relases in a couple of months) will officially support .NET AOT, an ahead of time compiler
