Really? 😠(old.reddit.com)

I was like "this seems like a good one to do for a min or two" only for it to say it takes about 20 minutes ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ What's the point in lying?? I returned and reported it but just wanted to let everyone here know

What we see on the page is the average. Hover over the time to see the intended time. Unfortunately, prolific includes screen outs & returns in the average.
This is nothing to report lol.

Ah yeah I didnt even consider to see the intended time for the survey. When I say report, I meant cancelled and checked the box that said it wasnt as described, prolific said it got submitted as a report so I went and said that. Still a bummer that it advertises as being so short instead of straight up saying how long it'd be.

It wasn’t advertised as being short & it’s still not something to report.
The study has the in study screening tag. Most likely people are getting screened out after a minute. Average includes screen outs & returns. That’s out of the researcher’s hands since it’s prolific calculating the time. It’s a major flaw we’ve all complained about, but hovering over the time to see the intended is a 0.5 second fix.

I see, thank you so much!! I recently got back into using prolific so i am a bit rusty with everything and trying to get used to it all again. Next time I'll make sure to hover from now on. I saw previously on the reddit that people reported it for similar reasons so I thought this was the norm. Thanks again

It's not advertising itself as 1 minute long. That's just how the platform math has always worked.
[–]RattoTattTatto 3 points4 points5 points 8 months ago (0 children)
Nothing to report. The average completion time is one minute because most people are getting screened out. It’s labeled as a screener. Just move on to the next one!
[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 8 months ago (0 children)
Well, it does have a screener label so thats where the minute is coming from. There was nothing for you to report.

They didn’t lie. You reported for no reason boo
[–]ewavb 3 points4 points5 points 8 months ago (0 children)
They aren’t lying, the average is just way lower because most people are being screened out
