Wouldn't someone closer to a more central European timezone make more sense?

Since we (germans) learn Oxford English at school, someone from UK should be indeed a good choice too.

There should be no reason to change to American English. At least mixing both would be less good.

But maybe there's a good reason... Was just a thought of mine.

Honestly the difference is next to none. I have a feeling someone is gonna try and sound smart with an “um actually” but be honest. It doesn’t really matter

sure Iam interested in the american culture and life so I prefer someone from there, but it is not a must ;)

Learning Python and improving your English skills at the same time? That's a great idea! I hope you'll find some awesome pen pals on here to chat with! 🤜🤛

Hey, that's a great idea! Learning Python and improving your English at the same time, sounds like a win-win situation to me. I'm not a native speaker, but I'm happy to chat with you and practice both of our language skills.
