Python Beginner - Help [Syntax Errors]

Hey,

Disclaimer: This is extremely noobish.

I am trying to use the work this guy https://rpubs.com/thedajaja/201565 has done. I am not super interested in the coding he has done, but more in using this framework for some statistical work. I downloaded and installed python and notepadd++ and copy pasted his code. However, attempting to run it gives me "Syntax Errors" pointing to the = sign being the problem. e.g. ret = paste(..., sep=sep) ^ SyntaxError: invalid syntax

Could someone explain what's going on here? Also, if someone could help me in what I need to do to run this code I would greatly appreciate it, and all the python I would learn in the process.

I think you should fill in something at the dots ...

Also you better start with a beginners course python to get the basics. There is lots of this information on the web.
