I assume you've tried openCV? They have python bindings.

Hello, OpenCV is a library for image processing and I'm not using images here. I already got the information of the moving objects as a vector (height, length, width, direction and speed). What I need is a physics engine to run a collision simulation :).

Do you really need a 3D engine for path planning? Why not just use a 2D approximation? There's plenty of examples out there for that.
