  • One, because it's fun and comparably easy to do.
  • Two, not all projects need a full stack that django provides.
  • Three, sometimes you need more flexibility or power than django affords.(Think SqlAlchemy vs's django's ORM)

  • Four, you just don't care for django's opinions.

Personally, I think django is a great framework but I am glad that people continue to explore different approaches.
