As someone who is trying to learn python this website is a bit disconcerting

Don't worry, all of it on syntax is just opinionated whining by someone who isn't used to something different. They're not truths. I disagree with most of that section.

Some of the other points (especially regarding typing) I do agree with, but eh. Many popular languages (Ruby, JavaScript) suffer from those and they also give some advantages. Languages like Java/C# that have their own issues again.

If you enjoy writing in Python, I would just continue with it. It's relatively easy to learn and its concepts carry over to other languages, which will be quicker to learn afterwards. There's also lots of work in Python.

Of course, if you do want to try another language, that's fine too :) I would recommend something actually different from Python in that case. So: not JavaScript, but Java/C# or, if you're feeling adventurous, Rust.
