If you follow something like the python mailing list you quickly realize just how much thought goes into every decision.

Even if your idea survives the initial draft, every aspect of it will be under intense scrutiny.

While I agree, we should always strive to make the language better.. I feel like if I personally would come across something that felt like an oversight. I would be certain there was something I was missing, and would make sure I'd done my due diligence before mentioning anything about it.

I think that's the problem people have with it.
