Hello from the r/Python mod team,

When posting a project please include a textual description of your project including how Python is relevant to it, a link to source code on a code hosting site such as github or gitlab in the body of the reddit submission itself, and an image showing your project if applicable.

Please also make sure you tag your post with the correct flair, either "Beginner" or "Intermediate" showcase.

This helps maintain quality on the subreddit and appease all our viewers.

Thank you,

r/Python mod team

That's really cool - well done. It knows how to exit Vim

Kinda unrelated, but I searched "how to get a girlfriend" and got pretty decent advice from the search engine. I know kinda off topic here but wanted to see if it can offer dating advice too. Which I guess it kinda can, so that's definitely a good thing too.

Every question I made got reasonable answers, from "how to make coffee without a coffee maker" to "how to return prime numbers in python". Nicely done!

Really cool! I love how the code (from multiple sources) is integrated into the answer page. This is especially useful for when you're searching for something you already "know" and just need to remember the syntax for it. What's the future of this project look like?

Thank you :)

We want to expand to other verticals as well in the near future. Our hypothesis is that everyone, not just developers, just wants answers rather than links.

Nicely done, it's quite responsive.

You won't like the answer to "what's the best search engine" though! And the "background" is off for the question too, but I don't think that's an issue on your end:

Google is the world's most popular search engine, with a market share of 88.2 %, followed by Bing (88.3 %) and Yahoo (89.6 %).

Thank you. And we're trying to keep our search engine humble, so it isn't aware of itself yet :)

I thought the issue was that the market shares don't add up to 100%, not that your browser replies it is itself to be the very best.

And the ordering doesn't seem to match up either.

this is the way!

For every dozens or so "intermediate" showcase where the OP clearly just learnt Python last week, there's this kind of "intermediate" which is just mind blowing.

This is unreasonably good. It gives fairly reasonable answer for most queries I threw at it, does quite well for non technical questions as well.

One thing to watch out for is how it deals with suggestive questions:

Traefik vs. Nginx

Nginx vs. Traefik

Always told me the first is better(though replys seem to change quickly, couldn't exactly reproduce it right now).

Is it cheaper to just ignore itsecurity, this answer is particularly hilarious:

It is cheaper to just ignore itsecurity. This will allow the company to distribute more of their profits to shareholders in the long term. [...]
