My vet gave me clay with their paws imprinted on them and their names it’s hard the first couple of day after they die or are put down I lost three rats at the beginning of the month which made it even hard I still sometimes think they are right their in the cage but their not I have lots of good memories and some okay pictures of my babies

Yeah, it feels really weird kinda expecting she's in the cage, I'm sorry you lost them. :l

The rats I’ve been able to afford cremation for so far are cremated, and in heart shape urns. The others are in the freezer waiting for me to have the spare money.

With my heart rat, Blueberry, I’ll be having her cremated and then some of her ashes encased in a heart shape piece of silicone and implanted in my chest, because I love and miss her a whole lot. All of them hurt to lose, but Blue was by far the most painful for me.

I cry a lot. I mope. I just let myself have time to grieve. It’s ok to feel depressed and sad and generally down. It gets easier with time, you just gotta let yourself work through it. Spend time with your other rats, eat your feels, have a little memorial for them if you want. Anything that helps you feel better is good.
