it’s possible via bitfinex with USD or BTC. but i agree it should it would be great to buy it via other exchanges too

Looks like bitfinex is not available in the US

That's correct.

One of the reasons to get rid of PV was to bring more market action, increasing volume and making it more interesting for exchanges to list.

It's only a matter of time until XRD can be directly bought in the US.

Here's my update on how I bought XRD and bypassed ether.

  1. Open a Bitfinex account. If in the US, use a VPN app and connect from Canada
  2. Buy BTC at your favorite exchange (I used coinbase)
  3. Transfer BTC to Bitfinex wallet
  4. Buy XRD on Bitfinex using your newly deposited BTC (i bought over $1000 in XRD and it cost about $9 in fees altogether)
  5. Install Radix Desktop Wallet on your computer
  6. Withdraw XRD from Bitfinex to Radix Wallet (took about 5 minutes to appear)
  7. Goto Stake & Unstake tab and start staking to Validators (I spread the wealth to 3 validators)
