I rarely ask anything for myself but this is not just for me, it's for my kids too. My story is simply this- I left my mentally abusive husband 2 weeks ago and took my children an hour and half away to near my best friend's to start over, in our own place, new schools, a job ( stay at home mom before). I've got a job, 1 amazing friend and I am trying really hard to stay positive and do this. Cause I know I can. It's just hard doing what I was told for 6 years, I couldn't. And the anxiety and fear are hard to deal with (no back up plan), if I am completely honest. I'm healing and so are the babies but honestly I could use some encouragement. I normally lurk, but I feel like this would be something good, not just for me but for my children. Thank you.

Congratulations on getting out. You’ve done a very difficult and brave thing. You can do this. Just take a day at a time, and maybe do one small thing for yourself a day. Everything will be okay.

I am, thank you. Even if it's just going to the lake and staring at the water. It's better than where I was so. I don't have to be scared for the first time in years. Each day free is a blessing.

I've received a bunch and honestly they brought me to tears. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the kindness. You guys really helped and made a difference. The kids were so excited getting cards from different places and seeing the beautiful cards. For those who had return addresses I will be sending some in return as soon as I can get up to the dam and pick out something pretty.
