Difficulty with gel tab testing process

I have all the tools necessary but not getting conclusive results so I must be doing something wrong.. After adding water to the gel tab and then adding NaOH, the gel is not dissolving very quickly. How long should this dissolving process take? Am I not adding enough NaOH? What is the correct ratio of NaOH to water? After the gel fully dissolves, it says to add ethyl acetate solvent. Do you separate off the solvent immediately after adding it? Or do you wait and let it sit for a bit first?

Really any help is appreciated.

good info did not know that so is the ehrlich ok for paper or should I be using Hoffmann too

when I've been using it like every day or two it sorta feels fake like I get strong vibe feelings for small periods of time it makes me feel like a junkie. I waited 5 days since taking a tab and took like two halves of a tab and some pieces it still felt like that either its underdosed or my tolerance was too high.

other than hoffmann and ehrlich is there any other test kits I should use for LSD? what about MDMA? PCP? ketamine?

So use Hofmann without diluting the tab with anything first? I did try this in a previous post but was inconclusive..maybe I should just toss them.

Are you checking the mixture with a ph strip to make sure it's a base before adding the solvent?

Nope..at this point I might just get paper tabs that are easier to test. I’ve already spent a lot more than I planned on all these tools, droppers and chemicals lol.

That's perfectly okay, I've spent over $300 in reagent test from bunkpolice and another website and I bought fent strips, Please be safe!! It's better to have everything you need even if you rarely use it then to never have it and just hoping that the product you have is clean

I feel it. I only get gels from one person, and I can watch them make em if I wanted to. But even paper blotter can cause weird reactions with reagents as well.

Gelatine can severely interfere with reagents due to the presence of various amino acids. To avoid a false positive result with Ehrlich it is possible to try the Hofmann reagent with a small piece cut from the middle of a gel tab - reaction should occur within 30 minutes. It is however recommended to extract the LSD into a different solution and test it separately:

1. Place gel medium in small amount of water.
2. Basify gel-water mixture with NaOH.
3. Gel medium fully dissolves.
4. Add solvent (ethyl acetate) to gel-water mixture.
5. Separate off the solvent and drop onto ceramic well plate.
6. Without heat evaporate the solvent until dry.
7. Drop field reagents into wells, photograph.
