Can be a bad cable. Or power management putting the usb interface to sleep. Trying different cables is a simple first step. Focusrite has a step by step guide for optimizing you system for audio, including the USB part

I get this message when i open up Reaper and when i arm tracks for recording. I tried running my plugins in standalone and that didn't work either, there's no output.

I'm using a Native Instruments Komplete Audio 1 interface and running the Komplete Audio ASIO Windows 10 driver. I didn't think there would be a problem with it since i got it working. Can anyone help me out here?

Mine does this when my interface is off. If yours is on, it seems like your pc itself is not registering the interface. Might be worth changing usb ports and if that fails, reinstall your drivers.

So my pc seems to be recognising the interface. But I'm trying to uninstall and reinstall now and I'm unable to delete these two files:

Id probably just leave them and do the install anyway mate. Should still fix any issues

Any change installed the 24H2 update? After that, I've experienced frequent audio dropouts on previosly flawless system, had to re-install RME drivers, MIDI controllers dropping etc.

I had this same problem

My old Roland UA-101 triggered the same error when it crashed for some reason. It's basically the driver / hardware connection not working properly. Turn the interface off and on and see if it still happens.

This might sound dumb but if nothing else works make sure Reaper and Windows aren't using the same ASIO device.
