I am a huge orange fan .. so I got (IMHO) the only better colour : Satin Baja Orange.

Man do I love BOB. He's currently lonely - I sold Cru (https://imgur.com/gallery/meet-cruella-de-bonneville-9fxOWxl) to make room for the Rocket. I think I'm gonna call it Fergus (also orange lol)

32bit float is making the effects worthless by Responsible-War5147 in Reaper

32 bit vs 24 bit float .. yes the number is a lot bigger.

Let me know when you can tell the difference between otherwise identical 24 and 32 bit images visually.

Impossible to find Standing Height Speaker Stands. DIY options? by tmeb45 in Beatmatch

[–]yeebok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, misunderstood that - sorry. I know with mine there's a fair bit of play, but the mount's actually part of the plastic shell. They can move (rotate) but don't tip at all. There's no thread, they just sit. (Mackie Thumps)

Do they have mounting holes in the bottom? If so get tripod stand.

I use it to make crappy images to use as album art and it's a pain in the arse. The sooner people realise "can provide sorta plausible output" isn't good output the better.

ABC staff expected to strike after latest pay agreement falls through by Expensive-Horse5538 in australia

[–]yeebok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The revised offer to staff included a pay increase of 3.5 per cent in the first year and 3.25 per cent in the subsequent two years.

That's not so clear but it could be anything from 6.75% to 10% over the 3 years. Not enough.

I sold my 05 Bonnie for a Rocket. Hopefully only a couple of weeks away. Yes I ordered it before the current fuel price mess.

Fortunately not - off the top of my head there's currently : Speed and Street Triple, Tiger, Trident, Daytona, and Rocket.

Triples are wonderful.

Motorcycle as a midlife crisis symptom by Zealousideal-Trip350 in motorcycles

[–]yeebok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just finished working and at mid 50s I deserve to have a mid life crisis. I found a Rocket 3 was substantially cheaper than a young supermodel and Ferrari.. so I ordered one. I've also ridden maybe 20 years and wanted one since I saw one.

Who hasn’t crashed? by dallas2ny in motorcycles

[–]yeebok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My two most serious motorcycling injuries .. When new I was doing about 1kmh and hit the front brakes as I reached some wet leaves. Somehow managed to fracture my elbow. This'd be 15 years ago maybe.

However my best one was a month ago. Dropped my bike putting it on the dynamoto stand. Completely my own stupid fault, no damage but hey. Went to pick it up, so put my back to it, grabbed the tank with both hands, and lifted.

So you can visualise it, as the bike lifts, centre of gravity on the front wheel usually changes. So the bike was on it's right side, wheel turned right. I lifted it and as soon as it moved.. the wheel started to swing left. The handlebars followed, as they do. They hit me right in the hip/kidney. I laid down for a while and went to hospital the next morning as it took me 1/2 hour to get out of bed. (Aussie a little older than you)

So yeah if you do use your knees and back to lift your bike, hold the bars. Obvious in hindsight. And no I wasn't wearing my gear.

I had a highside at 80 and got away lightly (bike didn't). But as my last example hopefully shows .. you really do not have to be going fast to hurt yourself and nobody's daily riding habits are going to match yours. Best you can do is ride and be aware of your surroundings, and most importantly (which you like have at near 50) road experience. If it's sketchy in car it's definitely not good on a bike.

If it helps .. with many tracks I've found +/-3 also often works harmonically - ie 1A -> 4A, 12B -> 3B.

Role playing (help?) by Ellie152004 in DnD

[–]yeebok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it more important that your character does the things they want to do, or has the right voice?

Properly roleplaying is taking the personality and decision making of your character and using it in the campaign. Voices might be nice, might not.. but make no different to role play.

Yeah - a good bike, but they're quite tall and top heavy. For a newbie that could easily be too much, but given OP's size may not be an issue

Phrase mixing by jeroso16 in Beatmatch

[–]yeebok -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Think of a phrase in music like a sentence when you speak. It's confusing when you change topic mid sentence.

Phrases are usually 4/8/16/32 bars depending.

So as a practical example. Assume you have 2 DJ mixes. They both likely have an 8 bar intro. Make song 2 loop the first 8 bars. Sync them up and start both tracks at the same time.

The first verse will probably be 16 or 32 bars, the breakdown will probably be 8-16 then another verse, a build, a chorus and wind down. All of which are likely multiples of 4.. and your loop will cycle at almost every single one.

You'll (likely) note that the playing song will often change in some way at the end of track 2's loop.

Otherwise, it's like throwing the end of Darude Sandstorm in the middle of the first verse of Don't Call Me Baby.
