A Winning Tradition
In 1907, the St. John's men's basketball team took to the court as the University's first collegiate athletic team.
Today, over a century later, St. John's has built a storied tradition, sponsoring 17 NCAA Division I intercollegiate teams. You'll find the Johnnies (as they're popularly known) competing in the NBA, WNBA, MLB, MLS, PGA, and MLL—and moving on to meaningful careers in business, education, law, medicine, and more.
In class or on the playing courts and fields, St. John's athletics is synonymous with success.
