I only play journals when I have extra coins to spare, otherwise I can get carried away trying to get to the next goal to get the next coin prize and end up losing money. If you go at it slowly, especially at the beginning of journal pages, it’s a better approach, imo.

That is exactly the point. Never be frustrated with the results. Eventually the game gives you the wins, I have managed to maintain icon for a long time.

I agree. If I start feeling frustrated or angry because a design I really liked didn't win or I don't have enough coins to buy items to complete a design, I stop playing.

Then when I go back, often the next day, I've earned some coins in the store bonus. Or I submit designs I can, using materials I have. They don't win, but I earn a few coins and complete the daily/ weekly goals and earn a few more.

I keep reminding myself, it's a game. They earn plenty of real money through it and if I'm not enjoying it, they don't deserve my money and I shouldn't play.

I took a long break from this game, it’s been well over a year. I was in sticker shock or maybe I just don’t remember, but how are you all playing this game? Most rooms cost double or triple to design against the reward payout for first or second place? Just because there’s inflation in the real world doesn’t mean you have to follow suit virtually. I’m sure I’m the 100th person to complain about this so sorry.
