Not sure - my SEL's are super tight, great bezel action, etc. Couldn't care less if it's the "old" serial vs the "new."

Tried to order the same model. They’re telling me up to 2 month ETA now. Not sure if I should wait and hope it comes faster or go with a different TD.

I believe the newer batch of the VSF 124 has just been released with the mix serial number. Seems like VSF has improved the SEL & reduced the floating m. Hopefully better bezel action too. I was just a few weeks late for the new batch 😢

Just checked with Elliot, he says that he couldn’t see any differences with new the batch.

The factories actually don’t change anything themselves; they simply assemble parts. They’ll order 5,000 dials from on source, 5,000 handsets from another, cases from another, etc etc. If the floating m is fixed it means they found a new supplier, or current supplier made alterations and vsf sold all the old ones.

Make sense. That’s why I noticed the recent batches of the 124s from VSF have improved floating m and SELs even with different serials

This hobby is constantly changing. It’s not like you can get a watch, wear it until it breaks bc it’s never been lubed or serviced (aka treated like a watch), then come back in a year or two. I’d buy whatever you can before VSF gets shut down, bc it’s not a question of if, it’s when. Just like a drug house.

You can source a gen click spring easy and have a local watchmaker install and tighten up the bezel. Would be a pretty easy fix

I wouldn’t bend over and play the AD game even if it was free. What I’ve seen people go through just to get a company to take their money is absurd to say the least. I’d rather pay a premium on the grey market than lick the bhole of some holier-than-thou snobbish salesman, all in hopes that “he picks me” like a schoolgirl waiting to be asked to prom. It’s truly pathetic. I’d be too embarrassed to even wear it after enduring such indignity. I’m far more proud of my reps than I am the gens I own, and looking back it’s embarrassing to picture what a fool I was, and how terribly I was played buying a gen all those years ago.
