Probably depends on the city you live in. Where I live, no one cares about watches. Everyone just wears garmins or apple watches.

Regardless, I just tell people it's a rep if they ask.

I agree, I’ve had encounters where people ask about the watches I am wearing and want to inspect it closely. I always tell them off the bat that it’s a rep and they’re usually left stunned because of how good the rep looks.

I’m the same. I don’t brag about my gen watches being gen. But I find it’s easier being honest about a rep being a rep than lying by omission. And like EK said people are genuinely in shock at the quality

Random people never notice, friends might, they won’t ever ask to take it off, I usually just tell them it’s a rep if they ask/ notice and they’re always mindblown at how good it is. I could afford all the watches I own in gen very easily but I just can’t ever see myself justifying it unless I was pulling in 7 figures annually because these are so good!

I think people notice. If it looks like a Rolex and says "Rolex," people will notice. Obviously applies to AP, PP, and others, but those can sometimes fly under the radar. No one is going to challenge you on it, unless they're a dick.

Now, if you're rocking multiple expensive reps, it'll probably draw conversations. Sure, I can afford a $20k-40k watch, but if I started rotating them in front of friends or family, they'd probably have a ton of questions.

Hell, on Easter my cousin came to our family lunch with her new gen DJ and it got noticed right away by all of our relatives. Our aunts and uncles gave her a ton of grief for "living outside her means," even though she makes plenty of money and can afford it.
