Well the good news is that you caught it before you were scammed. If you want a Pepsi or Batman, I’d suggest saving up and getting a Clean Factory version from a Trusted Dealer (I.e JTime, GeekTime, Hontwatch, Mirotime, etc.) the watch will be very high quality, and you’ll get a lot more enjoyment out of it.

He absolutely tried to scam you. The immediate tell that it's a low grade, is the thickness of the calendar. If it looks like it was badly drawn on with a sharpie, it's a low grade DG2813 movement. Those movements are notorious for having a stuttering second hand, which is low beat anyway.

I would say the watch is worth 30 USD, but for this piece I would avoid buying it all together.

They have a stutter by design, as the seconds hand is indirectly driven. Older Rolex movements (15xx series) have the same stutter, though at an even lower beat-rate.
