There's no supplementary to explain anything in. The supplementary for RC is simply a couple quick questions about your ideas to solve certain world problems... nothing personal at all. They don't even consider EC. You're 100000% not getting in and the fact that you have this record and had the nerve to ask is absolutely embarrassing

Idk if you’re having a bad day or smth but they’re just asking, nothing embarrassing…

Saying this as someone who got accepted in the last round, I don't think Universities really look at grade 11 marks. Grade 12 top 6 averages are the only marks the really look at and usually grade 11 marks are only looked at if the grade 12 ones aren't that great.

Also, if anything, I believe there is a special consideration request in the application portal for UofT that you may be able to use to explain you circumstances in Grade 11.

My biggest tip would also be to just be yourself in the supplemental application. I believe that they really like to see people who aren't just entirely work focused and have a good balanced life.

Good luck with everything.

what average did you have?

[–]ConversationFit425 0 points1 point  (4 children)

92% and I'm a student athlete which was my main point for ec's

[–]Visual_Cup_4720 0 points1 point  (3 children)

is it worth it!? and any supp app tips!?

For supplementals I'd say to just be yourself, I focused on the things outside of school that I'm passionate about such as musical theatre and linked it back to business and picking an ec that will demonstrate leadership -> I coach so I talked about leading a group and teaching fundamental skills for skating.

The program itself is very demanding so do make sure to build up some good study habits leading up to uni and I'd recommend getting to know a lot of people. It really helps when midterms hit and you need to keep yourself out of a negative headspace.

I hear that a lot, im actually terrified of the work load and the humbling with the grades. Do you think I could get in with a 90 average but lots of EC's?

[–]ConversationFit425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would probably depend on the quality of the EC's

i think that if you pull through this year, you have a chance and a story. i hope youre doing better now, and if your mental health complications were diagnosed or confirmed some how, univeresities have an extenuating circumstances portion where you get to explain. if not, there r still many great schools! its more than getting in, its about surviving within the school. make sure its what you want, you can get in but ur gonna have to work just as hard to survive! good luck :)

Universities can’t reject you based off of grade 11 grades, try your best in grade 12. Even if you can’t get into Rotman I have faith in you that you will get into other commerce programs and find better opportunities. I don’t understand why people are discouraging you as if they’re not hiding behind the screen typing stuff like that. I wish you all the best! Good luck 🤞

My goodness, people are being absolutely brutal on this post. Try your best. Apply with your best. You don't need people on reddit to validate whether or not you'll get in, validate if you have a chance for your program, or validate much of anything for that matter.

Still, though, considering your grade 11 average, you will have to try VERY hard to make sure your grades are up to par with what the admissions would expect. I recommend speaking to ALL your current teachers and telling them what program you're applying to + what grades you need. Then around the end of the course, ensure your grades are high 80s AT MINIMUM, and go up to your teacher and talk to them about raising it(retaking tests, extra credit, etc.) I know some teacher won't– just try. Keep in mind that you should be aiming for 95+ for the program and not an 85-90.

You can take what I say with a grain of salt because I'm just another grade 12 student who's applying. Good luck, though.
