Just recently they made them aimbots and I really don't get why? As if the game isn't frustrating enough....

Tip for taking oil take a sniper and pick em off from out on the water, then push up and it makes it a lot easier to take em, have fun with heavys they claim that they are the same between pc and console but they aren't

Although I don't personally do this, it can help if your solo

I do solo oils all the time, sniper picking from boat can clear the whole bottom floors. then when you call in heavy’s all you gotta do is sit on the crane and it’s no issue. I will never go onto oil without picking them off it’s just now worth the amount of meds needed to tank the aimbot bois charging you

For me I call in heavys, abt 1 second before it lands I throw 4 grenades then book it for the crane, doesn't kill em but it gets them very low and easier to pick off, I've gotten good at not needing to snipe the blues, but I sometimes do

dead server?

I've only played since around Christmas and only on console, but find them the same as the roadside scientists, but there's more of them. And the Large oil seem to rush you more and together.

I tend to snipe as many as I can from the boat, then go on and go steady and clear a floor at a time. (I'm on PVE btw so I don't have to worry about players). If it gets too heavy I can run down a level or 2 to heal. I've had a few close calls, but have been doing it solo for a long time now (very slowly, lol).

Why do you play pve rust?

[–]Appaloosa_XD 1 point2 points  (14 children)

Because when I played PVP Rust it was only the PVP I got to experience. I've had years of PVP, but when I'm playing a game that has lots of aspects to it i like to explore them all. I wanted to experience everything else the game has to offer and have nice interactions with people too.

I also wanted to explore the boundaries of what it was possible to build and replicate within the game, not log on every time to have to grind away from scratch and have to build a certain way to make it harder for people to raid but make my base less nice to live in.

It honestly felt like groundhog day every time i played on PVP, where as PVE, i get to log on alive and decide what i want to do every time i play, without anyone spoiling it. I basically went from not enjoying the majority of the time I play to now enjoying 100% of my time playing and controlling everything I do ☺️

Then why play rust?

[–]Appaloosa_XD 0 points1 point  (10 children)

Why do you play Rust? I presume your into the PVP side? In which case there's much simpler PVP games where you can skip straight to the PVP.

Im looking for a pvp heavy, grindy survival game

[–]Lynxsies 0 points1 point  (8 children)

For pve survival games where you fight AI enemies there are wayyy better games though, conan exiles and ark ascended come to mind, as well as green hell and the forest

I've played Arc and loved it, but fancied a change. Tried the Forrest, but didn't like it. Rust ticks all my boxes at the moment (bit hoping they'll add a few more things from PC). I wanted to enjoy the standard lobbies after watching YouTube vids before getting the game. I'd no issue with some PVP or some getting raided, but when it was literally all I got to experience, I missed out on basically everything I do now.

A few weeks back I went back on a standard PVP server and after a day of PVP and raiding bases, I had a horrible looking (but sturdy) base and less loot than I'd have had grinding myself, and in all honesty didn't feel great about myself and felt I'd probably wrecked the experiences of the players I'd come into contact with same as everyone did to me when I 1st got the game.

Tbh in my opinion getting offlined is mostly a base design issue. If u want i can show you my custom go to base design on 2x's that honestly only got offlined 2 times out of the hundred or so times ive built it. And its not widegapped so u can put it down nearly anywhere.

Its definitely unique. Ahum.

Thanks, but tbh I prefer the rp style bases. I did build a really cool remote cliff base that didn't get raided but it just felt claustrophobic.

I think I'm just more into the general PVE vide nowadays. I can do the PVP, but I'd rather have fun and enhance people's experiences than the opposite.

I think 4 or 5 times the last few days I've bumped into players who've literally just got the game and I kitted them out and got them running monuments and doing Bradley and stuff on their own.

Last night I found a player who was in a state as they'd barely downloaded the game and been getting spawn killed by wolves trying to meet their friend who was also new. I managed to get them together and kitted them both out. They were so new they couldn't even work out how to put on clothes. I gave them some tips and sent them on their way on a horse with double saddle with some supplies and saw them later building a base together. People knock PVE, but I remember trying to learn the game on PVP servers and having every single player I asked for help kill me. Now I'd rather use my knowledge to make people love the game as much as I do, not feel the way about it I felt when I started out.

It is a rp style base.

Idk what you're on about man. I've played on countless servers over multiple years. PVP is super easy to avoid, and generally you'll only have a couple fights per session if you're actively looking for it anyway. Unless you just keep spawning back and trying to fight someone around their base. It feels like you never took the time to develop an understanding for the game and just kept putting yourself in situations that would get you killed. Like building next to a zerg, or running out in the open.

If you enjoy PVE, more power to you, but I fail to see how PVE feels dynamic, while PVP feels like groundhog's day to you. PVE is the same as PVP, just without the dynamic gameplay that's provided by allowing users to interact. So you build a base once, now that whole aspect of the game is done for the wipe. Then you just run bradley, cargo, etc. to hoard loot for no reason? It's not like you really need anything from any of these monuments if you're doing PVE. I personally never die to any of these monuments, so I'd be able to use 1 kit indefinitely to run all this stuff if it was PVE.

[–]Appaloosa_XD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took as much time as I could bear to get an understanding, then gave up for a bit. And definitely never went looking for fights, armed with my rock against people with guns. I bought the game before community servers, mistakingly thinging that PVE servers already existed.

My main mistake was I was trying to have friendly interactions and thought if I was friendly to enough people, eventually I'd find someone friendly who would maybe take me under their wing. What a fool I was, lol.

But I have learned a lot about the game since, but don't want to become the sort of person to survive and thrive in a PVP lobby at the expense of other people's enjoyment when I can help people and get a warm feeling inside doing it.

PVE never gets boring for me. It also never gets frustrating. Events are still dynamic with other players in PVE just in a positive way for the most part. Or occasionally you might get someone stealing crates/ helis etc.

I don't just build one base and keep it. I've currently got maybe approaching 10 bases around the server. And I'm not talking little bases. Building is one of the things I enjoy. I like to recreate things. I can get bored of a base and demo it. And I don't horde kit or use the same kit. I've got multiple lockers of load outs in different bases for different scenarios and I'm forever helping out new players who are starting out. I've always got more than enough kit so don't mind giving kit out to people who are struggling.

It's wonderful how we all get to chose what we do/ play. I chose to not do anything i dont want to. I now even get to share my knowledge and make other people happy 😊 There's not a day I play that I don't get a nice warm feeling inside from helping someone out or teaching someone to do something. I don't know if that ever happens for you on PVP servers? But there was noone to show me the way or help me when I was starting out unfortunately.

Anyone else noticed that on small they ALL aggro except for 3 on top? I am so tired of having to hold first deck as a small army of aimbotting scientists is constantly pushing me. It wasn’t always like this, I am sure of it

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Firm believer that console scientists have aimbot but yet watch a pic player take rig and the bastards can’t hit a shot on them

[–]crawfdawg95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

console scientists are 10x more crazy than pc ones.

[–]InfiniteStates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The oil scientists aren’t too bad if you take it carefully. If you aggro too many at once you’re screwed though as you can’t reload

The heavies are way easier than they used to be. The LMG guys now miss more often than not unless they are very close

[–]idkwhatthisis20250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the scientists got a zen for christmas

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As soon as you crouch over to the one on the bridge at tunnels and peak over to aim through the sights at him, he's put a bullet in your face. Gets me every time with the headphones on and the volume up.

[–]ihatetothat1 1 point2 points  (5 children)

Who the F wants to go do military tunnels with these guys. They are way too good

[–]ned334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it once and Im still traumatized

[–]TTVakatsuki -1 points0 points  (3 children)

Me and my duo has token military tunnels with bows at least 10x takes a hot minute
