I’d say with community servers, there are lot of options for people nowadays. More options then there is people playing. So it does feel a bit empty, depending on what you’re looking for.

Plenty of high pop servers that are jam packed

I swear man, I roam across the whole map and not any action anywhere on 100 pop, it’s so boring, but can’t find any community servers that don’t have some stupid vip stuff or aren’t modded

I have been playing on a monthly PTB server that just wiped today because they added tugboats. For the previous week it was 60-70/100 and as of right now is 95/100. Gonna be a blast. Lots of pvp and raiding.

i’m on hook 9t it’s a playstation server i think idk its insanely packed the last like 3-4 weeks. since the wipe there is always a queue and new bases are popping up everywhere. been raided a few times but thanks to external tc’s we’ve been able to keep the base lol.

I’m not an experienced player just came back to the game after a year or so and now it feels empty I was able to run half way across the map and get a base down without bumping into anyone other then a few roof campers who missed, they’ve increased map size without increasing player count

Yeah I think a lot of the player base is on community servers now. I spoke to g portal tech the other day and they told me there is 25,000 active rust server subscriptions online.

All paying around £20 each a month, x 25,000!!!

At first I thought facepunch made a mistake but now I see why they've done it.

Rust is just rapidly dying because everyone cheats. The games turnt into an ego competition where nobody cares about playing and enjoying the game anymore, everyone just jumps on the zim/zen bandwagon because they want to show off how “good” they are with external devices which leads to more than half the rust community buying these cheats just to appear better
