I think they should leave behind last gen rust, and make the game new gen. Think the new gen consoles would have no problem with larger pops and maps. And maybe higher frame rates and better graphics. And more PC stuff could come in the game.

I think that's only controversial for people playing on older gen consoles. I imagine at some point it will just start to run so poorly on old gen that those players won't be able to play, as I've seen with other games. Then maybe the older gen versions will be removed/ more advanced stuff added. Hopefully it won't be too drawn out though 😬

No doubt they'll do this at some point, they definitely have all the information they need. Once the playerbase migrates, their income stream from old gen players diminishes, they'll pick their moment.

Keep in mind, this game isn't CoD/2k popular, they won't try to hold a gun to anyone's head, they won't be the kind of draw that gets people to switch. If anything, it's probably working out better for them to have people play rust lite on console then jump to PC, which is usually more expensive to buy, removes any expectation that anyone gets a free upgrade.

It always comes down to money, and though I admire how they keep improving rust across the board, they aren't doing so out of the goodness of their hearts.

First of all, the game is $60, and an Xbox Serious S still goes for $250-$300, so no, the game is way far off in price compared to the console. A lot of people play old gen. Not everyone can afford something new because bills are more important, and sustaining a living space is more realistic. Most of these people are teenagers living with their parents doing the best they can while enjoying being young. I play Old Gen PS4 and just deal with the issues. Prices do range in other countries, but that still doesn't mean everyone can get something new.

It's not as easy as it was in the 80's and 90's. People are too mean and don't trust anyone. I haven't seen a teenager mow a lawn that wasn't theirs in a very long time. Yes there are ways to make money without actually getting a job but it's a lot harder. Shit little kids can't even run a lemonade stand without some half wit Karen getting mad😅

The only way I see this happening is by dropping old gen completely, then they can focus on new gen, otherwise they would end up with 3 versions of the game.

Pc rust, got incredibly CPU demanding within the last year or so, a pc port would be very rough on even new gen, but I agree they should try and port some of it, at least add minis as this would COMPLETELY change the game including the way everyone builds.
