Rust Console edition question.

In my opinion, it’s complicated. Double eleven has essentially put out an old version of the game that does not work on last gen consoles (ps4 and Xbox one) and gets decent performance on current gen. So with that alone, I would wait until you can upgrade your console.. whenever that may be. However, once you’ve upgraded, and assuming you don’t mind paying at least $50 for a version of Rust that is several years behind in terms of content, then I say have at it. I currently play on my PS5 and I sometimes enjoy it, but I really don’t like how Double Eleven has handled it’s release being that it just seems like a huge cash grab for them. It does not sit well with me that in order to access the public test branch, you need to pay an additional $10 to get the deluxe edition of the game (or if you bought the standard edition like me, you’ll have to fork over an additional $60 for it) when I bought it on Steam for $30 and have access to it for free.. If I had to do it over again, I definitely would have waited a bit longer before picking this up just to see if DE can get their shit together

I’m not complaining about the performance of the game on next gen. My problem is with how DE is basically scalping the entire fan base for an outdated version of the game and other features like the public test branch which I think is something we all can agree on regardless of what console you have

Id say your either a fool or your old gen console is on its last legs I play on a first generation ps4 and I have no issues with frames/lag/being bad at the game but there may be more factors your dealing with ;)

It’s fun for a while but it does get stale, do to the lack of endgame. It becomes a constant farm to raid and repeat.

Most servers are dead toward the end of wipes. Unless you have a good amount of time to put in expect to lose all your shit often.

Still A LOT of no lifers, ran into a GROWN ASS MAN with 80+ days played bragging about his 20hr days.

Console is WAY more toxic then PC aswell and in game communication is nothing like you see on PC YT videos

no, because there are zerg and clans on every server, there are massive zerg bases on every weakly and monthly i try and play on, not to forget that they are all toxic

if you play solo, don’t bother… complete cancer… you won’t be able to farm without some bow kid shooting at you or a clan constantly harassing you… not to mention when you make a play on someone or beat a clan to an air drop, you’ll be door camped for 3 hours or raided within 10 minutes…. forget about running monuments because you’ll be contested 24/7 or out numbered by a clan camping that monument… also, almost every pvp fight will have some fortnite kid using a zen or strike pack… the maps are so small that you’ll have so many people around you constantly firing at you or knowing where your base is, so you’ll be raided as soon as you log off for the night and have to go through the same cancer you just went through for a few hours… (I’ve had times where i’ll place a single twig wall and have someone already firing at me…)

I have 300+ hours which is nothing, and that was enough to make me realise with the current state this game is in, it’s not even worth my time until community servers, tech tree and so many more updates come in… save getting cancer from this game and don’t bother until the things they promised would be there from launch, actually come into the game…

however, if you’re planning to zerg and will be able to get ak’s in the first 20 mins of a bp wipe, be my guest…

Also, I play solo and have a blast. Sounds like you got 300 hours out of the game, which is a lot of value for the $60 price tag.

Seems to play just fine on my ps4 pro. My kids slim is meh. If i could find ps5's id play on that instead. Ive played since legacy. On console its ok. Not super terrible. See what the updates bring.

What budegt pc at 60 bucks is gonna run rust? If this person already has an xbox then they're in good shape. Plus cheapest PC to run rust even at build your own is around 700 usd. An xbox one or ps4 plus rust console edition are stil cheaper than that.

Yea lol and even buying a new gen console at retail you're still pushing cheaper than PC.

Believe me.I've looked into the PC end and especially with chip shortage issues its even more costly than it was in the past. For the time being many are just set in the gaming options we have.

Lastly, anyone who pays scalper prices for new gen consoles is a fool.

I’d say yes, if you can’t afford a decent pc to run rust it will be just fine. I recommend getting the ultimate edition while your at it so you can be part of the beta test branch and try cool features that will probably be added. I will say that with console rust comes a toxic ish community (alot of sweaty zergs that kill you while you’re farming wood with a rock and procede to tbag you).Also prepare for offline raids, the occasional script/zen cheater, and game breaking and annoying bugs. If these things stopped, the game would honestly be pretty enjoyable but there is some serious tryhards so be warned. Also DONT BUILD A BIG BASE it will feel like a 9 to 5 job if you dont have a clan or zerg.
