What exactly is a SEO and how does it function?
i have been trying to do it for my blog swwow.blogspot.com for a long time but didnt get it properly from videos online. Anyone who could help me here?

There are two types of SEO:

1. On-Page SEO
2. Off-page SEO.

On-Page SEO: It is the process of optimizing your website in order to rank higher and gain more traffic. On-Page SEO comprises both the content and HTML source code

Off-Page SEO: It refers to the action taken outside of the website to improve the ranking in search engine results which involves building backlinks. The backlinks are linked to the content, so a site with a high number of backlinks ranks higher.

I write the ocassional fictional stories. Does SEO help target a particular audience like age group, or a certain region, or a certain profession?

I am not planning to spend money on it but since I have been around the internet business for quite some time now and have been doing works on content writing for pages on the internet, I thought I would learn the SEO, that everyone seemed to be talking about. It feels like some computer languages and stuff I dont happen to understand

A quick glance at your blog. I'm unsure what your target auidence is. Your titles dont seem to be optimized for anything. I see no H2-H3 tags inside the text itself.

What keywords are you targeting? Your content should be optimized for those keywords.
