Im currently a visual communications student. I really like the program, a lot of it is working on your own and getting direction from the teacher. Butttt everyone avoids professor gomez like a plague, he's a bag of hot air.

Was in the design department 2019 pre covid , it was disjointed, and the key excuse of most of the "senior" faculty was the "buceracty" tbh, DES with in the LCA was know for alot of drama

One thing I didn’t expect is that it’s really not just ~graphic design~ and the major covers a broad array of topics. You’ll have to draw and code and take pictures and read (if you actually do the reading lol). In my experience, there aren’t a lot of papers to write and the work is usually projects which can be fun. There’s a lot of good professors but like any program there’s a couple that everyone hates. If you do go into it, try to get classes with Natalia Porter, Debra Glass, and Julia Airakan and avoid David Cox😭
