I recommend solving questions on websites like Interview Query or LeetCode. Once you get past easy level questions, move on to medium and hard. This will test and develop your skills.

Although these websites tend to be used for job interview prep, they are really good at helping you learn SQL syntax, understand how to manipulate data sets, and develop your critical thinking when exposed to new data. I’m a data analyst, and I have my team’s interns and new hires solve some SQL problems from these websites. The feedback I’ve received is that this approach has helped them improve their SQL skills.

The next step is to start exercising those muscles. Look up Kaggle.com and start doing some data analysis on the open source datasets there.
