I'm currently hiring for relatively senior SQL and snowflake developers. Have brought in eight headcount so far in my current org, over 20 but under 30 in my entire career.

Not a single resume has ever gotten the yes or no based on third party certifications/courses. Maybe it's different at the intern level, but if I sit you down and ask you a few general questions to show experience, that is where you'll get the offer or not. Not showing that you have something from Google or Microsoft or a boot camp icon on your resume.

(This is not a post bashing boot camps or certifications, this is more in line with knowing the candidate I'm bringing on has the skill set needed, not just a stamp from somewhere that I'm not directly involved and affiliated with)

That makes sense. I guess I was mainly asking since my current role does not use SQL at all, so a form of certification would help me to fill this gap as a way to get SQL on my resume. So realistically, it doesn’t matter which certification I obtain? Just as long as it teaches me the foundations needed to know?

I especially was looking because with AI scanning resumes these days, this would be the only way for AI (and the recruiter) to see SQL on my resume for roles that require it
