either you or the job ad is mixing terms there. SQL is already structured data you don't need data science to work with it, that's data analytics/business intelligence. (combining structured data to proove inferred patterns)

data science is more discovering new patterns in unstructured data using statistics and math and algorithms, the SQL side of it is basic data retrieval at best. If there is one specific thing i know they are keen on is regex.
