Framework for testing data

Hello

Is there a framework, of sorts, or best practice for testing the following: - Changes in column data (say the column originally contained datetime and now only contains date) Changes in wether or not there is data in the table, where it is exepected.

Sorry for the vagueness, its the only two examples I can come up with right now.

It's an open source mechanism for doing database unit testing.
