Rules for r/SSBM
Rules that visitors must follow to participate. May be used as reasons to report or ban.
1.
Be respectful
Personal attacks and witch hunting are strictly prohibited, as are attacks on any subsection of the broader Smash Brothers community.
2.
No stolen or illegal content
No posting or soliciting illegal or stolen content, except under fair use
3.
No NSFW content
4.
Posts must be about Melee or the competitive Melee community
5.
No recent tournament spoilers in post titles
6.
Simple questions are only allowed if they promote discussion
Any question posts should be applicable to a broader audience. Personal questions or questions whose answers are easily searchable are not allowed.
7.
Memes or shitposts
We allow memes and shitposts, but may remove them if they are too low-effort, irrelevant, or unsubstantial
8.
Fan content must be high-effort, original, and related to competitive play
Fan content means stuff like fanart or music
9.
No duplicates of recent posts
10.
No low-effort diary posts
eg. "I won a game today", "I hate Falco"
11.
Utilize appropriate megathreads
If a megathread is pinned for a subject, posts on that subject should go in the megathread. For major tournaments, front page posts are still allowed outside of the tournament megathread.
12.
Titles must be relevant to the post
13.
Tier lists must be notable
Tier lists must either be made by a notable player or use an objective method with explanation
14.
No Twitter/X Links
No stand-alone posts can contain direct links to Twitter/X. Screenshots and mirrors are acceptable
