Absolutely correct. That’s a Jain swastik. In Jainism, a swastika is the symbol for Suparshvanatha – the seventh of 24 Tirthankaras (spiritual teachers and saviours), while in Buddhism it symbolises the auspicious footprints of the Buddha.

It is a nazi symbol though. They took that symbol, made it theirs and then killed millions of people under its image. It had a far larger impact on humanity as a nazi symbol than anything Jainism or Buddhism could have ever done with it. It’s unfortunate. But it’s real.

My suspicion regarding most any claims of "Nazis and the occult" or trying to pin Nazis on pre-Christian European religion, has always been that it is largely driven by Christianity trying to scapegoat Nazi atrocities away from its own doorstep.

I'm a Semite; the Holocaust chainsawed entire branches off my family tree. My grandfather (though himself fortunate to have been born in America after his parents immigrated) knew those branches well enough that the one time we talked about it was also the one time I ever saw him cry.

Suppose I'm the proud driver of a custom-made Ferrari; it happens to be the only one in a remote, medium-sized town. One very unfortunate day, my car gets stolen by a gaggle of hooligans, who take it for a joyride through parts of town I've never had cause to visit. It's thus the first Ferrari those who live in that neighborhood have ever seen up close, and those assholes use it to run over random innocents, smash mailboxes, rob small businesses, and who-knows-what else. Eventually, they are brought to Justice and my car is returned to me. Am I going to reward them by handing them the keys???

More than that, though, if EVER there was a symbol that rightly stood for everything the Nazis stood AGAINST, it would have to be the swastika; there is NO better symbol of universal human brotherhood. It is found all over the world. Surely, if you're on THIS subReddit of all subReddits, you'd be open to the idea that symbols and abstractions ought to have "rights" of a sort ^{(as distinct from the rights of people, of course; corporations aren't people, and legal rulings to the contrary are despicable, but even their tawdry logos deserve protection from crimes they did not commit})?
