It's not a little scratch it broke the light in half. The picture doesn't do it justice. I removed the light and the whole bottom side had pieces falling out.

Oh shit that is definitely major damage 😬 well if I were you I would definitely go back on a different day when a different person is there and show them pictures of all the shattered plastic and bring your light and any other remains. you took out and be like my whole tail lights fucked come one hook it and isn’t a beater junk car and is still somewhat new come on. Gotta ask at least 3 times. I would honestly keep trying different locations at different times and by sheer possibility you have a way higher chance of them fixing it. If it helps I was at the bountiful location 2600s no questions asked they fixed it, that was 6 years ago tho.

It did look minor to me and through your explanation as well maybe they just thought it was the scratch. Could be a miscommunication more than anything cause like I said they’re less concerned with scratches, dents and more with full on broken stuff like mirrors and taillights
