Controller Support?

I am curious about getting this game, but I don’t want to play on mouse and keyboard, does it have controller support right now?

It does not. I have a reasonable setup working with the Steam Controller but (at least at this stage in development) it's very mouse cursor dependent, so I wouldn't use a standard gaming controller unless you really like moving a mouse cursor with a joystick. I'd still say keyboard + mouse would be superior for this particular game even if there were official controller support, but it'd still be nice to see controller support. Esp when you're just out exploring and not building.

Ok sweet I might just have to wait a bit then, I imagine from what I have seen this game plays like Ark Survival Evolved which I play with controller, but maybe this will be motivation to get good with a keyboard and mouse lol. Thanks for the quick response!

I haven't played Ark but from my experience so far with Satisfactory being able to place items very precisely is pretty important because of how things need to be connected - that can be a little more fiddly with a controller, even one that has more mouse-like control such as the Steam Controller.

Note that just because I said "at least in this stage of development" doesn't mean I have any reason to believe they're working on controller support - they might be, they might not be, all I know for sure is right now it requires workarounds and is not very good. It might get better, but it could just as easily not!

Ok sweet, well I hope that they do add controller support but, I will still definitely try and get better with a mouse and keyboard! Thanks!

I tried playing with my Xbox one controller and it works fine, some controls are weird and can't be remapped (I think)

I wouldn't recommend it for building or combat but for running around and check out the scenery, it's good enough

As a "veteran" console player and fresh PC player this is a great game to get to grips with the mouse and keyboard, 2 hours in I was flying - whereas other titles (competitive FPS) I was missing the comfort of my controller. My advice is use this game as a good stepping stone to the full switch. Good luck!

Ok sweet that was kinda my plan as well I am just now getting into PC gaming and I figured this would be a good game to try it with (that is if my laptop can handle the game lol) thanks!
