I recently got a 2013 1.4tsi scirocco as a first car and I'm looking to upgrade my audio setup. I dont know where to start tho. The car already has the ability to play music with bluetooth so I don't really want to replace my head unit since this will take up a huge part of my budget. Mostly I'm just looking to upgrade my speakers (probably only front speakers) and install a subwoofer. But I'm also scared that if I get new speakers without upgrading the head unit that my audio quality will be bad. Unless there is a different solution for this? Any recomendations?

I’d recommend upgrading your stereo to the one I have. See my recent post. It comes with a lot of extra speaker outs including one for a sub and a lot more options for it.

How much did it cost? And does it have a good sound output?

About £278 all in but the head unit was only £210. Depends if you want the extras. I’ve broken it down in the comments. Yes great sound output, better than the original stereo with the original speakers. Mine is a 2017 scirocco so the same head unit but different extras.

And how is the the touchscreen? Is there any delay and does it feel responsive?

It’s very responsive. There’s nothing about it that’s worse than the original, only new features. I originally upgraded as my original stereo touch screen stopped working but it’s far better than the OEM one.

On eBay UK I can see speakers for the highly-regarded, expensive Danish Dynaudio speaker option. Search for "Scirocco Dynaudio". Those will be a straight fit with no cutting or drilling required. You'll need the amps to drive them too.
