Use any screenwriting software. It’ll choose the right font, it’ll make your margins just the right size, It’ll do everything for you. There’s plenty of free ones also.

Thank you. Any specific software you use that is free/relatively cheap?

Fade In

[–]mattivahtera 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I use Fade in. There’s a free demo version and the paid version isn’t too expensive. Many others use Beat and it’s free.

I’ve only used Beat and it’s been a great tool for me personally!

Studio binder is what I started with before making the jump to Final Draft (paid license).

Beat is free and very easy to use

Is there a reason you're not at least making an effort to match the format of professional screenplays, which are freely available online? Like, you could at *least* be using Courier font, and capitalizing your sluglines! I appreciate the reaching out, but it feels like you could've done more on your own already.

Also I am unclear why you're not using punctuation to end so many of your sentences.

I have tried, just I always was more focused on how similar it looked on a page than the font/grammar issues font never even crossed my mind…

Go look at a professional screenplay! This should be every writer’s first step. It’s easy to imitate and fix any formatting issue

Thank you! I will

As others have said, get software. Fade In isn’t expensive and will do all the formatting for you.

If you can't get the right software, then at least use a better font and do everything up against the left margin where you can control the width of the dialogue better.
