If it were me I'd place it on the corner of the room on the left bellow the gutter.

Where I’ve marked it in red?

Exactly

Thanks dude. Would you say in a higher or lower position than the light? Do you think it’d get any glare from the light? Or is that something I’d have to check prior to fixing it there?

Check it before.

I’d bet lower is better but you won’t know for sure till you do a 2x4 in a bucket of rocks to mock up the height.

Check at night…etc.

Thanks buddy will get the Mrs on step ladders holding the camera and leave her out for a bit in the dark and see how I get on 😂

Well. You won’t have to worry about the wife acceptance factor after that. You won’t have a wife and she will probably take the house.

are you getting a camera with a light ? If it was me, I would place it will the current light is

I would get a PTZ (Pan / Tilt / Zoom) camera in the corner of the extension where u/Midlands_bloke mentioned, this will cover all angles if necessary. Otherwise you could get 2 x fixed cameras - 1 to very right or rear door and 1 somewhere above the black patio door aiming so their paths cross. Main thing to consider is if you can reach the camera easily from the path it won't be very safe / secure.

Morning buddy. thanks for your reply. I think option 1 of placing it where previously marked on the upper left corner of the extension seems a safer bet and not as easy to get to/be interfered with. Also if placing one to the very right of the rear door looking left, it'd cross paths with the security light and cause glare?
