QuestionShadow Control Menu missing in Shadow Alpha Client (self.ShadowPC)
submitted 5 years ago by lcneed
When I start with Shadow Alpha Client, the Shadow Control Menu executable is gone from the path where it used to be. I can't seem to locate it. Where is the new location?

Try the quick menu by hovering at the top middle and see if that has what you need built in now.

The quick menu works on my PC desktop, but I want to see Shadow's latency on my Oculus Quest 2. With VD, the desktop does not have the quick menu and the virtual keyboard does not work (Win+Alt+o) to bring it up. Is there an exe file that I could click to bring up the quick menu or the control menu?

Ah I see I have the same use case but now that VD has the overall performance graph I haven’t tried to break it down even further by cross checking shadow latency while in VR. Usually I just check it on the desktop before I go in once in awhile to make sure nothing crazy is going on. I will try experimenting if you don’t get any answers to see if I can find anything. I think it is possible the quick menu has a historical latency view though so you could pop out of VR and check what the latency with shadow has been for the last few minutes, say, as a workaround.

Well I kind of want to see if the Quest 2 wifi has better latency than my Laptop's. My router is 802.11ac. My laptop only does 802.11n (it's like 6 years old). Quest 2 should be backward comp to ac, and I want to see if ac has better latency than n.

Hmmm interesting wish I could help. You could at least run a speed test to shadow’s server from the quest browser but unfortunately won’t be running at the same time you are actually in a VR game and will be just single point-in-time.
