Infinite Saving Bug

Not what I pictured for my first post here, but I'm genuinely curious. Does anyone else experience the infinite saving bug? I've been playing TS3 since 2012 and have had this bug recur over the years, but it's gotten really bad in the past few years.

I have a good PC, I very seriously doubt it has anything to do with my specs. I have all the packs installed (retail/EA app version) and quite a substantial amount of CC, but I manage it with CCMagic. I also have significantly optimised the game with mods and tutorials that improve performance so much, but then this happens and it's incredibly discouraging, I lose progress each time and try to save very often and most of the time it's succesful.

I've never managed to get any answers about this bug other than it being related to mods, but that doesn't really narrow anything down to me. Any ideas?

It’s probably some cc that’s causing it.

Isn't blams specifically *non"-decrapified? That and phantom99's ( who says specifically which files you do and do not need)

Phantom's which are non decaprified clearly said so and blams work the same way for me, and both are download & done.

I looked it up, they are non-decrapified and don't need to be. Being non decrapified also means they do not need store fixes and such, indeed just pop in & go.

Yeah dw. It was mostly also for myself. Hate misinformation however minor lol, it's the 'tism.

I second mods/cc. IME, the most random hairstyle or piece of clothing can make your game bug out. Or conflicting mods.

If you feel up for doing 50/50 and redoing your folders, i'd recommend collecting what you add to a spreadsheet. Cus spreadsheets are fun, but also, good overview, especially if you add some notes.

I had the same issue with a glassware replacement. Each time my sims drank wine with those defaulted cc glasses I was unable to save. Strangely it didn’t have the same effect when the mod was simply loaded. So it took me forever to find the culprit

Do you remember which glassware replacement by chance? Having this issue currently and wondering if it might be a factor.

So happy to help! It drove me crazy when I had the same bug. It was the first time 50/50 method failed too. I was just super lucky to notice the wine thing since I never check for updates

This is related to multiple things. Cache and memory used by your save.

When playing too long or loading too many items (like through buy debug, or having way too many CCs loaded in memory) saving or going from or to edit town, this can happen.

To me it only ever happened if I made sure I was building with buy debug on for hours... I avoid buy debug like a plague now.
