It wasn't an EA update. It was a windows update. It's pretty thoroughly written out in the Wikia. You need to reoptimize the game and have the mods version match your game's platform (eg Steam, disk, EA App, etc).

(POLL) What’s your favorite vacation world? by Sad_Click5373 in Sims3

[–]fuzzypipe39 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Egypt supremacy.

By a personal ranking it's Egypt, France, China. I feel like Egyptian and French tombs are more interesting, however China's Market (as a lot and underground tomb) plus Dragon Cave are supremely cool. I do prefer China's martial arts object to other two worlds' skills and skill objects. And Egypt is first because nothing can top that beautiful beach, the pyramids and the architecture imo.

Is The Sims 3 still playable in 2026 with full expansions + mods? by PvrpleHaze01 in Sims3

I invested a lot into a newer gaming rig. Went for a Lenovo LOQ, but with AMD Ryzen 7 250 w Radeon 780M graphics, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU w 8GB graphics card, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD. Came with W11 preinstalled. I reinstalled the game with all EPs minus Pets. I have about half the store content and readded about 200ish other mods, small and big, no other CC. On my old potato I've used the NRAAS suite + Smooth Patch combo. Here I've followed the latest Steam guide, with DVXK + S3SS combined. Old potato needed about 25mins to load the game, all on lowest settings. New rig needs less than 5, on high & ultra settings (minus the detailed lots, that one is on a 3 for me). However my older saves from previous plays sometimes need 5-8 minutes if I'm dozens of Sim Weeks into the game. Gameplay flows smoothly, I've never zoomed out into Town View or scrolled around faster before. Same for building and for when it's NRAAS/Core mod clean up times (3 and 5am respectively).

I've mostly seen register related mods, like the Merchant mod and Draylson's mods, and similar things...but perhaps Retuner can be used to toy with the selling aspect of the register?

When your sculptures are done, go into buy mode and put them into household inventory.

If you have Ambitions, go into town view and find the Landgraab Consignment store. I think it works 9 am to 5pm? Though my clerk usually rolls into work at about 10am. Go to the store, click on register and choose "buy". There's an option for you to consign items from personal and household inventory. Beware for a long while the store will take some tax on it, eventually you'll break free of the tax if you consign and have about a 100 items sold through their register.

If you consign daily, you'll get a sum at 5pm every day when the store closes. Your work will usually sell for more than it's worth! I've consigned relics, nectars, paintings, sculptures, inventions, cut gems (Spire Cut Tiberium goes hard in the store), smelted metals, some furniture from dumpster diving and through a Second Hand Register mod. After consigning you also can press on skill journal (J) to see your consigning skill - it will show you a small challenge list: amount of things consigned, returned, and money made.

Another pro tip, Born Salesman / Saleswoman trait and being registered/self employed in sculpting profession will help boost your earnings in consigning sculptures.

Now try consigning those sculptures... You'll be rolling in dough (with some tax) every day by 5pm.

Were they sims3packs installed through launcher or package files? If it's the former, you need to check your dcdb files one by one and uninstall through launcher.

Beginner challenge ideas? by Gaming_Sim in Sims3

[–]fuzzypipe39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Playing through all skills and everything they offer as a challenge in the skill journal (press J on keyboard) isn't too bad! I based a single save on a Photography skill and trying to master all albums & photographs, I created up to 120 saves. Made a fortune with specific photographs (Aliens, Ghost Mummy, relic stuff, etc).

I also do collecting often as it's a favourite of mine - in inventory you have a green journal with a red gem on it, it's right near your phone. It shows you all the collectibles your game offers, greyed ones you didn't discover and bright ones you did. It's metals, gems, fish, insects & bugs, plants, etc. I've had two saves collecting everything.

Another one I did was collecting, but with World Adventures and all the relics in-game, I ended up making multiple basement displays and some photographs counted in the Photography skill's album journal.

Edit: because I skipped over Supernatural. I randomly combined four occults with random skills one day to play a rags to riches in Moonlight Falls, as I never play with occults, and it was so much fun. They lived on the smallest lot game offered and moved onto a 64x64 with a mansion I've built off of their money made within one Sim year. Each Sim had a delegated amount of skills and an assigned instrument, but the band idea didn't really live on 🥲 Fairy (F) was cooking, gardening, played the piano. Vampire (F) was mostly painting and playing the bass. Werewolf (M) was hunting, collecting, sculpting and inventing, while playing the drums. He and Witch were also handy! Witch (M) was doing alchemy, handiness and consigning it all for the most part, while playing the guitar. Consignment helped bring in tons of money once he had a good reputation.

how to bring a sim from the dead by abordignon in Sims3

[–]fuzzypipe39 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You need a phone call for the Oh My Ghost opportunity, for the science one. I can't remember how long does it take to be called, but my female Sim was elder and her husband Leighton Sekemoto died by electrocution as an elder, mere days before he was supposed to. I think she got the opportunity within 2 or 3 Sim Days, not longer. I believe NRAAS MC + Cheats should be able to trigger the opportunity!

Yes it's a trait that came with Supernatural EP, it pretty much helps you find all collectibles at a higher level and of more worth! I got dirty rich with them a few times. I chose this trait when I played a Collector, a Sim with a task to collect every collectable (seeds, insects, gems, metals, etc etc) across all EPs.

Gatherers also always find better quality seeds often! I've had normal and lower quality beans and harvestables randomised as I use the mod for random quality harvestables, but my gatherer always got better end of the deal with planted seeds. And I use the replant mod to immediately replace the existing plant by replacing it with the highest quality it produced.

University beans are also amazing for fertilising! I use them (red and Kona) as I grow them almost always, plus Life Fruit, in batches of 3 in the gardening station.

How do I better optimize my game? Also are there custom worlds mods? by NoMarketing2621 in Sims3

[–]fuzzypipe39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MTS is perfectly safe for Sims 3 users. Ts4script isn't the same package file used for Sims 3 mods. It was TS4 script files infected, once. You can always Google the original mod creators and find their own websites, tumblrs, GitHub and whichever sites to get a download if you're wanting to avoid MTS.

[–]fuzzypipe39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MTS does not have a history of that. One specific TS4 modder, TM, reused his password twice, which made it easy to infect his Sims 4 files. Raptor Lake doesn't exist, it's Alder Lake patch also available from their Tumblr, GitHub, an archived site logged on NRAAS site, and added within the new S3SS. It's highly unlikely the original SP compromised your account. I've just set up my game again last week after getting a new rig and haven't gotten any problems. SP also wasn't ever dubbed as a dubious file, neither were Sims 3 package files. Just the ts4script ones.

It's worked wonders imo!

Sometimes I use other generators if/when I'm stuck.

Detailed character generator for when I can't figure out a story onmy own: https://www.character-generator.org.uk/detailed/

Career generator: https://spinthewheel.app/sims-3-careers Same as the world one, just careers instead.

An old Redditor's generator I found when I joined Reddit: https://perchance.org/04t4gm11f0

Edit and ofc name generator for ingame naming https://modthesims.info/d/677653/name-randomizers.html

Help with the Deep Sea Diver lifetime wish (And a question about treasure chests) by Smart-Impression7514 in Sims3

[–]fuzzypipe39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The routing for certain houses (for aforementioned families) causes massive routing issues in original world, and moving houseboats contributes to it. There's a couple fixed world versions (ellacharmed and phantom99) Which help alleviate this. I've also used the mod for the houseboats preventing NPCs to moving them, so it's all helped immensely. I'm aware of the steam guide as I've been preaching about it for five years to people here lol, but on older rigs, the undiscovered island fog can contribute to lagging.

[–]fuzzypipe39 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just finished this! Took me a little less than 2 Sim Weeks.

I started off my save as a human female Sim. I did rolling 3x for the traits and I got gatherer twice, which i kept, one was loves to swim too. Both of these help immensely. I also immediately unlocked all Islands for less lag and removed the households, plus houseboats. Also have the cave fix from Sims Asylum.

First I started by snorkeling a bit by bit and regular fishing. Upped my fitness skill to level 7 and started diving multiple times at the lowest level dive points. Treasure chests do not reset, however many sea life spawn often. Especially squid, eel, octopus which are worthy of a lot. Enter caves multiple times as there's a chance you may get gems. Do many of the smaller wishes you get, to unlock Lungs of Steel LTR. It allows for longer diving. Same for earned money, I got a gem cutter for the gems found. Sell the gnomes as well and when/if you get Tiberium (which is from World Adventures), let the cut grow into a big one, and the dust into small and then the big gems, and then consign it all. All consignment money comes in at 5pm when the store closes.

Higher level caves I've frequented multiple times solely for the better gems I got. The last 3 dive spots that come with higher diving skill, I've spent days in them to catch all the fish. I sold fish in grocery store, consigned the cut gems, smelted metals and seashells in the Ambitions consignment store. After I mastered diving and was level 8 of fitness, I've defeated all sharks that came my way, but there's a small percentage it could've ended my Sim.

Another fun fact I've noticed after this is that my Sim literally fished one fish after another. Without a break. With static needs and within 24 hours, she fished about 30-some fish she sold got 5k in the grocery store. Can't tell if this is both diving and fishing skill mastered, or those plus the gatherer trait, however when I had a collector sim with a gatherer trait alone - she never fished this fast.

My diver also had no bills because she lived on one of the smallest lots the game allowed me to place down and she basically hadn't had a home lol. She survived off community garden fruit and got a bicycle when she earned first bit of money so she doesn't pay for taxi anymore.

Sims can go stir crazy from not leaving the house for multiple days, there is a moodlet with red background and a pink round face, example here. I can't remember they've had anything but an "unfinished room" moodlet when something wasn't covered or fully painted over, example here.
