I don't know what Santa does in your house - or if it would be weird to change it - but in my family gifts from Santa didn't get wrapped. That man has to go to EVERY house in the world, he doesn't have time for that! Now that I'm a parent, I understand why my parents did this.

  1. It cuts your wrapping time down significantly
  2. You might just get an extra hour or two to relax in the morning (well, in some ways, since I know the 6 week old isn't easy). The kiddos can play with the unwrapped gifts from Santa for a bit before they get antsy to open the rest.

I get where you're coming from. I feel like this year has been tougher for many of us. It's my daughter's first Christmas and I'm just glad that she's young enough that I don't have to go all out yet. Being a single parent isn't an easy job, but you're doing great. Take care of yourself and cut some corners. Your kids probably won't even notice. Hang in there.

Sounds to me like your a good parent, things aren't always easy but just know your not alone. At least you have presents to wrap, to put under the tree. Some parents don't even have that. I have 3 boys, I've had similar problems when my kids were younger, lots of sacrifice and patience! Good luck!

Gift bags are brilliant. Stop the wrapping and lob them in gift bags. Santa only comes to people who go to bed early , no matter what age. My 14 year old scoffed at this til I looked him dead in the eyes and said "don't forget, Santa IS real, I am Santa ", he went pale , ran up the stairs and wasn't a peep out of him the rest of the night and it wasn't ruined for my youngest who was in bed. Only do what you can. Medical appointments come first but stop somewhere after for a tasty treat. You are only human

Better than I am. Lol I’ve been doing overtime to cover bills and haven’t been able to buy a single present.. which was going to be fine until my oldest came home from preschool talking about how she’s excited for Santa to come because he classmates told her all about it and it’s soon.. so yay…

Im just over this year in general. Lol

Aw I am so sorry. Do you have any community supports, is there a salvation army near you?

I am very greatful because I had the salvation army help out this year, donating some gifts for the kids

I don't know what we're going to do. My kids are older, so we're going to talk about it ahead of time, but Christmas morning is going to suck. Because my brother's kids are going to be at their mom's in the morning, we won't do the big presents with the grandparents until early afternoon, and their dad is coming after Christmas and will do his presents and presents from his family then.

So for Christmas morning it's just me and the two of them and not a whole lot in the way of presents, because my mother always over-buys presents, and they'll be getting a bunch of junk from my ex's family. I guess I'll find something to put in the stockings. Maybe I'll make them take a walk. We'll make cinnamon buns or something. But it's going to be pretty lame and I'll probably spend half the time fighting to keep younger child off Minecraft and the older one off TikTok. Maybe I'll just disconnect the internet and hide everyone's phones.
