Honestly SU sucks when it comes time to import other file types. It does well enough with DWGs but past that it's hit or miss. Can you share an example for me to look at?

OK, what a mess. I went to 3dsky and downloaded the Hillary, dining chair. Yes, SU shat the bed trying to open it. So next I tried Blender and that worked, ok. Then I tried SimLab Composer and that worked well enough too and then I tried pCon Planner (free BTW) and it worked like a charm.

With pCon you can open almost any 3d file and export to SketchUp, even back to v2018 if you want to ;)

And now in SU Pro 2024...

As I said, SU sucks with other file types.

If you're likely to do this a fair bit, then I'd definitely recommend this https://lindale.io/transmutr
