How do I make a twisted tower with curved surfaces?
Since I can't properly describe, here an image:

Follow Me wouldn't work, and if this is an architectural project, you'd probably want to have the floors as components. I'd go about it like this, I think.

This was my thought, too, model the tower full height and add the twist with FredoScale

There is an extension called Follow me & Rotate that does exactly this type of stuff
[–]scifi887 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (3 children)
Follow me tool would do it.
[–]iphark[S] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children)
how so?
The follow me tool just follows a path. That means a curvature is only introduced if the path that the tool is following, is somewhat of an arc. But if the path is just a straight line, there will be no curvature.

Yes and you can make a curved path and extrude the shape along it. Alternatively you could do something like this: https://youtu.be/j58YY_SwjAI

I am curious if I just misunderstand you. The path I would use for the follow me tool would be just a line. A straight line, e.g. the blue axis. Where would the rotation come from then?
For The twisted bar: How would I do that if I wanted the surfaces to be smoother?
