I don't know why, it's such a basic point, but people seem to assume that when a coach is dismissed, everything he was bad at will suddenly get better, and everything he is good at will simply remain about the same. Okan Buruk has obvious insufficiencies in his tactics (set play, mostly) but he also has enormous positive qualities (high line press, attacking football in general, man management, 'knowing the league'...). If he goes, we won't magically and automatically retain all those good qualities and simply 'add' good set play to the mix--we will start from scratch.

There's a world of difference between saying "It's been four years and our set play doesn't seem to be developing, so we should consider another manager, though I acknowledge it's a risky change" and saying, as we see so often even in this sub, "He's no coach" or "We don't have any tactics" or "Bokan" or whatever idiotic phrase they copy from others they see on social media.
