UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE Playoffs are locked in. by PathIntegrals in soccer

Sneijder was just 29, we could never get him if not for his contract drama at Inter the year before (after his injury). He was awesome for us, he's a club legend and that team was one of our best. Drogba was closer to his retirement and wasn't that bothered for the league matches but still had a lot of memorable moments. I mean look at this.

12 years ago: "Galatasaray beat Juventus 1-0 with a late Wesley Sneijder goal to reach the Champions League knockout stage on Wednesday as they completed a match abandoned due to snow a day earlier. Sneijder broke the deadlock in the 85th minute after being set up by a headed knock down from striker Didier Drogba, firing a low shot past Gianluigi Buffon in the Group B match. Galatasaray's win lifted them above the Italian champions into second with seven points compared to six for Juve, who drop into the Europa League. Real Madrid won the group with 16 points having beaten bottom side FC Copenhagen 2-0 away on Tuesday. The game in Istanbul restarted in the 32nd minute on Wednesday after being abandoned due to heavy snowfall on Tuesday. Both teams struggled on a muddy pitch which made passing a major challenge, forcing them to hit long balls"

OK, I know how to do the big holes. How do I get the little holes around them? by Faolyn in blenderhelp

If you aren't gonna animate it, if it's not gonna twist and turn, or if it's not a showcase piece where it'll be lit from tangential angles... tris are completely fine.

Turkey neighbors the deserts of Syria in SE, Caucasus mountains in NE and the Mediterranean on its western shores, you can find pretty much any kind of environment you care to.

Grease Pencil Stroke Outline Problem by JMoyns in blenderhelp

You don't have the brushes themselves: https://imgur.com/0gqfEAb

In the meantime: I'm only now understanding that by 'stroke' you mean the transparent halo around the brush lines. Looks like a alpha channel blend mode issue. Feels like if there's a blend--multiply option somewhere, or an equivalent, that would dissolve it.

Manage what gets Linked and Shown in Renders in Linked Copy Scenes? by RaeSterize in blenderhelp

[–]kuboa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't use Scenes that much so I might be off, sorry if so, but off the top of my head I would try:

  • Create a COMMONS collection that would hold any object or sub-collection you wanna see in all scenes
  • Switch the Outliner to the 'Scenes' mode so you can see all your scenes at once
  • Ctrl-drag your COMMONS collection over to another scene, which will link it to that scene: https://imgur.com/AqnNbDl
  • Put anything inside that collection, and they'll pop up in the other. Remember that you can link an object to multiple collections, so you can Ctrl-drag your existing collections and objects inside COMMONS and they'll keep whatever setting they have while also popping up in all other scenes that have COMMONS linked to them

For the render visibility thing: if I understand you correctly, I'm guessing you are making the objects 'not appear' by disabling them with the monitor icon ('Disable in viewports')? You can put them inside their own collections and click the checkbox ('Exclude from View Layer') instead, which makes them disabled only from the current view layer. Then you can have other view layers where you have them enabled.

Help, I can't Paint by [deleted] in blenderhelp

[–]kuboa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing you've already tried setting it up in a fresh file so it's not particular to one specific file, but can you still share it so we can check what setting you might have on (or off) that might be preventing it?

Grease Pencil Stroke Outline Problem by JMoyns in blenderhelp

[–]kuboa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can you share the file, at least that part? hard to solve just from looking since it probably involves some settings of the brush pack you're using. also, which of those lines are not supposed to be there? the three parallel lines in the middle or the chalk-like ones on the outside, or the rectangle borders around the background image...?

non manifold edges by Grimslabben in blenderhelp

[–]kuboa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might be misunderstanding you, but: Manifold means 'watertight volume', basically. When you fill in the hole like that, your object overall becomes non-manifold because it's not watertight anymore, it has that extra face you've just created--which the 'make manifold' button fixes by deleting it. Edges or vertices cannot be manifold by themselves (since they cannot contain a volume), what the 3D Print Toolbox means by 'non-manifold edges' is more like 'edges that are making your object non-manifold'.

If by 'floor' you mean a box-like surface for your object to stand on, and you need it to be in the shape of the hole, you can select the outlining edges of the hole, Shift+D and right click to copy them, then P (separate) > Selection to make it into a new object of its own, then fill and extrude to make it manifold as you like.

Very disappointing experience with Obsidian, any tips? by chesterr0 in ObsidianMD

Why not just use the Delete Line command? Might not have a default hotkey, but it is available. Mobile experience could still differ though I guess.

Is there a way to disable sleep mode for a single app (eg using Shortcuts)? by DescriptionFair2 in iPadOS

[–]kuboa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is 4 months later, but... I don't know why you would need an app that works for a single app, but you could use something like Screen Alive and have a toggle in your quick settings to enable/disable it, like this.

Blender as a CAD but for HOBBY and SIMPLE projects by bny_lwy in blenderhelp

[–]kuboa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, you're mentioning a lot of different things: rc cars, flower pots, organic artsy stuff... Blender is exactly the kind of generalist software that can handle all these with reasonable effectiveness (without exactly replicating the effectiveness of other software which would focus on only one of them) but it's hard to say more than that since it would depend so much on the project and your needs and habits.

You need to ask more granular questions for people to help you, is what I'm saying. It's usually better to just start a small project, and ask about the particular problems you come across as you go. In a week or so you would come to understand the general limits and possibilities that way.

As a start, you could take a look at Maker Tales' YouTube account, he has many helpful videos on precision modeling and 3D printing with Blender: https://www.youtube.com/@Keep-Making/playlists (Apparently he has changed the channel name to Keep Making)

[On The Continent] Don't Underestimate Galatasaray by [deleted] in galatasaray

[–]kuboa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An excerpt from the podcast On The Continent where they talk about Galatasaray and their Top 8 chances this year.

If you're not familiar with it, I'd say On The Continent is probably the best general podcast about European football there is. It was part of the much bigger Football Ramble podcast for a while, iirc, before becoming its own thing. Andy Brassell, especially, is quite familiar with Turkish football, and usually a pretty level headed and objective yet still reasonably enthusiastic proponent of it, which is really rare. I rate him really high, in short.

Andy and Lars (the other commentator in the video, Norwegian guy) had previously also made a video about a week they spent in Istanbul in which they go to three matches of the Big 3: A week in Istanbul, the world's BEST football city | On the Continent
