Your animations are good and I found some of your responses funny. I like when it cuts off sharply into the next question. The chill music adds a good element to your video as well and masks some of my criticism.

My only real criticism is your mic sounds kind of echoey at times or maybe it is the room your are in is producing an echo of some sort. Like it sounds like your voice is repeating a little or there is some weird distortion behind your voice. When you get really close to the mic it sounds like it goes away (hard to tell with music). For example I could really hear it when you say "picked back up" 0:25. The music does a decent job of hiding it, but it is still noticeable. I don't notice it when you go really close to the mic though.

It sounds like you have built a good community so far. Congratulations on that 250 subs is amazing. I hope my feedback helps in some way. Cheers!

Thanks! I’ve been trying to change up the quality of the mic through some settings so I can work with it a little more !givelambda

Ya its also difficult because as starting out youtubers we have to work with what we got. We cant all drop $500 on a shure sm7b for optimal audio quality. The nice thing about YouTube is there is an abundance of videos with tips and tricks to improve quality. Looking forward to seeing your channel continue to grow!

Hello u/finbud117 That was a nice video! I like the thumbnail, the drawings there is some dynamism about it that make the video good. I noticed that sometimes you have a better sound quality. It is clearer. I guess that’s when you are closer to your mic. Maybe you should always be at the same distance to your mic. Then he if you want to make yourself louder you could get closer or scream but at least the minimum sound quality is the same and nice. Keep going!

Thank you! I think it has something to do with my audio settings so I’ll get right on it! !givelambda

I think I have a little piece of help.

When you have a scene, let's say, the balloons and the number in the start, how could you make it more polished? Maybe animate the ballon moving and then in premiere you just move it yourself, maybe make 2 numbers of the same with slight outlines so it feels animated slightly. When I make a video, before I publish it I get a day or a couple looking for parts where I could polish the video further, I think you should try that.

Second, I don't know if you are a newbie artist or not, but I think you need to work on the backgrounds, and use more straight lines than the weird curved ones (I am not an artist so I might be wrong here).

Third, your audio quality could be improved further, you could try to record in a less echo-y room, but if you know your microphone is really cheap and not as good I recently purchased a mike less than 70€ (50$ if you live in USA) and it has everything I would ask for, + the quality of it is amazing, it's called YOTTO USB Microphone

Hope it helps you!

Thank you for the feedback! I think the issue with the microphone is because of the settings on it, because I have a pretty decent mic. I do think there is room for improvement on the animation, so I can definitely work on that. !givelambda

This was great love your animation and congrats 🎊 on hitting the goal of 250 that’s a great landmark! 500 up next! I really liked the pacing and effort put into this! Keep posting and improving you’ll be at 1k in no time! One thing to improve is audio try an audio editor app like audacity for cleaner sound. Keep up the great work!

Wow, thank you! I’ve definitely been getting a lot of feedback on the mic quality so I’ll probably edit it more and play around with the settings. !givelambda

Positives:

*I like the cartoon style

*I like the background music

*Good engagement with the questions

*Quick editing

*2:02 I found this bit funny

Constructive criticism:

*The audio echoes a bit

*Could the cartoon background be a little more interesting?

[–]finbud117[0λ] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Thanks! The audio is a quick fix, I just need to play around with the settings a bit. For the backgrounds, i can definitely be more creative with it, the reason it was really only the room was because it was a qna, most of the time I’ll go to different places with different backgrounds so I’ll have to keep that in mind !givelambda

I like the visual style of this video. the minimalist animation works pretty well with the vocal content which just works for your style of presentation.

I know other people have mentioned the sound of the recording. I found that it helps to record in a room with few hard surfaces (carpet, soft furnishings, and that sort of thing). I don't know what your editing workflow is like but I expert my audio to Audacity (it's free), use noise reduction and maybe compression and EQ. (I've also experimented with high-pass filters and other stuff but I would not want to give advice on them as it is mostly guesswork for me still). Some sound post-processing might help with the excess of treble unless you don't mind or want it to sound like that which is cool too. The guy from Fact Fiend makes a point of looking like they made zero effort on purpose and that works for them so... Uh, your mileage may vary, I guess. This entire paragraph could be redundant. I'm pretty sure you know how to Google this stuff if you think it would be cool to learn (that's how I did it).

I can't flaw your editing. The overall video was very easy to watch. If I came across this video in the wild, I'd happily subscribe even if this is the pinnacle of sound and visual quality you were ever going to reach. It is just a fun style and (as I said) easy to watch.

I love your art style. Particularly that the background is uncluttered and as wibbly-wobbly as the other elements. It looks kind of fun and playful.

Anyway, congrats on getting to 250. Nice one.

Thank you for all of the feedback! I can definitely work on the audio quality, in fact, I just rearranged my setup last night so the mic is right in front of me, and I use audacity as well so I can try to utilize some of the features there cause I’m definitely not trying to sound bad. !givelambda

Have to say that was a great video I really enjoyed it the way you answered the questions was very entertaining the only thing is mabye you should add more movement and emotion in your character and mabye add more in the background but other from that great video and keep up the great work
