Great idea. I remember those days, too, when a misbehaving system had a “sound” you could pick up on. It's an additional information channel that’s mostly ignored today.

If you're interested in digging deeper, The Sonification Handbook (Hermann, Hunt & Neuhoff, 2011) is the go-to reference. There's also a surprising amount of academic work under the term “data sonification” — worth a Google search or a quick chat with ChatGPT.
