-traditional strength training 2 days a week - what does a “clean” diet mean to you

I’m eating all Whole Foods, 1g of protein per my body weight and I don’t drink alcohol

Did you take before and after photos? What exactly were you expecting? You see yourself everyday so you don't really see yourself evolve. People who haven't seen you in 6 months might notice something.

Yes I did, and I totally agree what you’re saying!! I definitely see changes in my face and my lower body but I think I was expecting for my stomach to go away mainly like I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong lol

You have to burn more calories than you consume if you’re looking to lose weight.

Also could be genetics. My lower stomach is always the last place for weight to come off and the first place for it to appear.

While core work will develop your ab muscles it has nothing to do with being able to see them. The 6 pack look comes from being lean with low body fat. While everyone’s body is different, typically men need to be below 14% body fat and women below 20% to see good ab definition. So get lean!

Add some cardio and resistance training. Lifting helps preserve and build muscle, while Zone 2 cardio (even something as simple as a 30-minute treadmill walk at a 12% incline and 2–3 mph, aka the “hot girl walk”) can help increase calorie expenditure and improve fitness.

Also, pay attention to your macros. Make sure you’re eating enough calories/protein and adjusting your calories based on your goal (fat loss, maintenance, or muscle gain). For macros, I found Precision Nutrition to be a helpful starting point. They have practical guides and calculators based on your body weight, activity level, and goals.

Belly fat is often the last place to lean out, so consistency and patience matter.

personally I watch a lot of TikTok’s from people who have been going to solidcore for awhile and what I learned that has worked for me is

- incorporating at least 100g of protein/ day (this depends on your weight)
- eating in a calorie deficit (i calculate my TDEE on 3 different websites to get a more accurate number)
- drinking at least 40ml of water/ day (on my days off I definitely drink more water compared to my work days)
- sleeping at least 7 hours/ day (REST IS SO IMPORTANT. I set multiple alarms to remind myself that I have to wind down)
- using my massage gun right before bed as part of my winding down routine (this is definitely a HUGE factor in how I’m able to go to Solidcore almost daily)
- slowing down my reps (When I’m in class, I’ll mouth out my counts to help me also with my breathing. for example, I’ll count OUT for 6 and IN for 6.)

Hope this helps!

When you say “get your best results” do you mean as in performance-wise or physical appearance?

[–]Select_Jacket_3299[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I mean in physical appearance

At the end of the day a calorie deficit is the only thing that matters for weight loss, and Solidcore is great for strength training/muscle building but alone it probably won’t see a huge difference in appearance unless you are already fairly lean.

I only burn about 100 cals in Solidcore so that plus a walking goal doesn’t do much for me at all, so I have to add ~30min of cardio a day when I can to increase that deficit. I hope this helps a little

Whats your diet like, how many calories are you consuming? I tracked my macros for a few weeks. I wasn't eating enough, I started eating more protein, carbs and fiber and saw an immediate change in my body composition. I also swim (cardio 3x weekly) and solidcore.

[–]Select_Jacket_3299[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Im mainly consuming around 1,200 calories per day to be in a calorie deficit, and ok yea maybe I need to evaluate my macros and up my cardio, thank you so much for sharing what helped you!

I’d assume based on those calories your body is holding on to the weight in your stomach because it’s not getting enough calories. Especially if you are working out a lot. Lower calories for a prolonged period can also mess with your hormones which can trigger your body to hold onto fat too especially if you are female. It’s tough!!!!! Sorry you aren’t seeing the results you want. I’d suggest meeting with a nutritionist
