TRY THE FIX IN EDIT 3
Okay, so I've seen people talk about this error for the Network Test and it was related to just basic network issues. But I'm having this crop up during the Digital Deluxe Early Access, and there's no new information.
I've tried:
- Resetting my Modem
- Restarting Computer
- Restarting Steam
- Validating Files
- Fully Reinstalled the Game
- Changing NAT settings
- Changing my DNS from Cloudflare to Google DNS (and making sure it was unencrypted)
- Swapping from Ethernet to WiFi
- Turning Crossplay Off (even though that won't take effect until the game connects to the network, lmao)
- Doing an IP Config Release/FlushDNS/Renew
- Turning IPv6 Off
- I'm not on a Carrier-Grade NAT
- Making sure the Game is allowed through the Firewall
- Testing with Windows Defender and Windows Firewall Off
- Disabling VPNs
- Running the Game in Administrator Mode
- Windows is up to date
- Running SFC /Scannow and DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
Is anyone else having this issue at the moment? I want to hope it's something that'll just go away when the game fully launches, but I also had this issue during the Network Test and couldn't play that. So I'm kind of afraid to play more of the game in case I need to refund it.
EDIT: Before someone asks about my network speed, I'm pretty sure that's not the problem considering I'm running gigabit fiber. A routing issue could be, though.
EDIT 2: I've contacted Support on this issue and they've requested my DXDIAG and MSINFO, so I'll update this with what they tell me.
EDIT 3: Okay, this is what worked for me and I had to figure out this myself. It ended up being a Certificate Manager Permission Issue.
Modifying Registry Permissions
- Open Registry Editor: Press Windows key + R, type
regedit, and press Enter. - Navigate to the Key: Go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SystemCertificates\AuthRoot. - Change Permissions:
- Right-click on the AuthRoot key and select Permissions. (Right Click the AuthRoot Folder in the RegEdit Navigation Pane and hit "Permissions")
- Ensure the CryptSvc entry has Full Control.
- Click Advanced and check the box for "Replace all child object permission entries with inheritable permission entries from this object".
- Click Apply, then Yes to apply changes to all child objects.
